The immune system protects the body from foreign invaders like viruses and bacteria, and promotes recovery and healing after injury. It also plays a critical role in a variety of disease states. There are multiple different types of cells that each have unique functions. These cells can interact with each other, and with other cells within the body. The painting was influenced by the work of Piet Mondrian, a Dutch abstract painter whose work is characterized by primary colors framed with black lines and white spaces.
